COOL DOORGIFT IDEAS WITH LOW BUDGET
Sometimes, you don't have to spend much to execute a great idea. These are some interesting ways for DIY doorgifts if you have guest invites of below 200.
1. Mini Tote Bag
Cute isn't it! With this pretty little thing being priced at $1 each, one can just put different types of treats in it. It's just very pleasing to the eyes and you can mix and match with different models. We've never seen this doorgift so far in any Malay weddings in Singapore. Perhaps yours could be the first.
2. Mengkuang Box
Now this is definitely one for the ladies. Perfect for putting a packet of tissue paper, super useful living in a humid country like Singapore. Tons of usage to store those loose items like keys and coins.
4. Honey Jars
This is one of the most common berkat (doorgift) that we have seen so far. It's practical, cheap and very presentable when placed on the table. It comes in all different shapes and sizes and even in a glass tube, like the one sold here. It is definitely one of the few berkat (doorgift) at any Singapore Malay wedding that has multiple usage. You can use it for your morning toast, afternoon hot drinks and even for glazing that grilled chicken. And most importantly, you can keep it in storage for a very long time.
4. Silicon Coaster/Placemat
Now, if you do your research properly, you can definitely grab one of this for under a dollar. It is definitely a steal. It appeals to all ages. Your guests will love them and you'll definitely score with the kids. The practicality of it makes it all worthwhile for your guests to bring them home.
5. Digital Tasbih
We normally receive gifts like this whenever a relative or friend of ours comes back from Umrah or Haj. It serves as a reminder that hopefully, one day, it will be our turn to be fulfil our religious duties at the Holy Land. Our grandparents used to have those big chuncky metallic manual counter to do their zikir. The evolution of technology has allowed those dinosaur devices to be smaller, lighter and fits right in your bag while still fulfiling it's main function, which is to keep count. These digital tasbih are cheap and really affordable. Definitley a winner with the makciks (aunties) and pakciks (uncles).
6. Folding Bamboo Fan
Last but not least, we found this idea super interesting. Super small, light and compact. Fits in your purse or bag perfectly. We would think a more citrusy smell would be popular with your guests. Super practical and handy in this humid weather in Singapore where you need to freshen up yourself every now and then.
